We view Instructional Design and Technology as an interdisciplinary field that focuses on the systematic design of training and educational environments. Although we prepare educators to effectively use computers and digital media, Instructional Technology is not just about computers; rather, the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation and management of high-quality instruction.
Our mission is to:
Optimize human learning and performance through research and the development of high-quality
training and educational materials and innovative learning environments
To achieve our mission, we offer three professional certificates, three master’s degree tracks, and two doctoral programs that prepare candidates to seek jobs as proficient computer using classroom and distance learning educators, instructional designers, and multimedia specialists in PreK-12, higher education, business and industry settings.
To further meet the needs and interests of working professionals, we offer courses in totally online and blended learning environments. The program, college and university, as well as schools and corporations throughout the Central Florida region, also provide an array of exciting research and development opportunities in Instructional Technology at various high-tech facilities.
With continued advances in technology and accelerating rate of change, education, training and on-going professional development are vital to the success of individuals and organizations. We invite you to explore the opportunities in Instructional Technology at UCF as we work to design the future.
