HP Trends and Issues:
What is all the buzz about Human Performance Technology?
In practice, it is not enough to have solid instructional design skills, one must be able to sell those skills in the proper context. More often than not performance improvement opportunities are developed but are not fully implemented. The discussion will provide an overview of HPT and how it is applied in the Navy, focusing on tactics for ensuring successful development and implementation through client partnerships.
Our presenter will be Lisa Gabel, a Human Performance Technologist for the United States Navy. She has worked numerous human performance projects as an industry consultant and for the Navy. Ms. Gabel has more than 15 years of experience working in performance management, employee selection, succession planning and psychological testing. Ms. Gabel is a certified facilitator of the ASTD Human Performance Improvement certificate series. She holds a Masters degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in addition to a Bachelors degree in Languages from the State University of New York at Purchase.
