Department of Educational and Human Sciences

Department Chair: Jay Hoffman, Ph.D.

The Department of Educational and Human Sciences (EHS) offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Sport and Exercise Science; graduate programs in Instructional Design and Technology, graduate certificates in e-Learning, Instructional Design for Simulations, Instructional/Educational Technology, and minors in Fitness Training and Coaching. EHS also provides graduate courses in educational research, measurement and statistics which are required courses or electives in a number of programs offered in other divisions in the college.

School of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership

School Director: Michael Hynes, Ph.D.

The primary mission of the School of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership (STLL) is to provide quality professional education for those entering careers as educators and trainers and to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of practicing teachers and educators through advanced studies. This department has 75 full-time faculty members and offers courses, graduate certificates, as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees in three major program areas: Elementary Education (Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education; Middle and Secondary Education (English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies) including K-12 Education (Art, ESOL, Foreign Language, and Reading) and Applied Learning & Instruction [ALIMA]; and Post-Secondary Education (Educational Leadership). The undergraduate program in Elementary Education is offered on the UCF main campus and the following UCF regional campuses: Daytona, Lake Mary/Heathrow, South Lake, Leesburg, Ocala, Osceola, and Cocoa. STLL also supports tracks in the Education Ph.D. and specializations in the Education Doctorate (Elementary, Mathematics, Reading, Science, TESOL, and Social Studies).
