Teaching and Learning Principles

The Art Education Program at the University of Central Florida offers Bachelor of Science, Master of Education, and Master of Arts degrees. These degree programs provide educational preparation specific to visual art instruction for persons from a wide range of educational settings. Students will gain a better understanding of the history of art education, the transfer of studio experience into K-12 curriculum, various teaching philosophies and curricular issues including national and state standards, theories of teaching and learning, assessment of student learning, teacher and program assessment, and art education research.

  • Ultracontemporary art education facilities with a specially designed classroom in the new UCF Academy for Teaching, Learning and Leadership
  • Small class sizes and a program headed by a previous winner of the National Higher Education Art Educator of the Year Award, Dr. Tom Brewer
