Graduate Certificates

The Counselor Education Program offers three Graduate Certificates Programs, which are designed to provide advanced training to both students in the Counselor Education program and for practicing clinicians in the community.

Career Counseling

The Graduate Certificate in Career Counseling is designed to provide advanced training to students and practicing counselors who want to provide career counseling and consultation services. The Career Certificate requires the completion of three graduate courses addressing foundations, theories, assessment, techniques, and applications of career counseling and development.

Play Therapy

The Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy is designed to provide advanced training to students and practicing counselors who want to provide play therapy services to clients. The Play Therapy Certificate requires the completion of four graduate courses addressing foundations, advanced theories, group and family, and applications of play therapy. Those who complete the Certificate will meet the educational requirements for national certification in play therapy through the Association for Play Therapy (APT).

Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy

The Graduate Certificate in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy is designed to provide advanced training to students (those in the Counselor Education Program and the School of Social Work) and practicing counselors and therapists who want to provide services to families, couples, and children. The program is composed of five graduate courses addressing family systems, working with couples and family therapy theories, and advanced counseling techniques. Those who complete the Certificate will meet the educational requirements for Florida Licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
