The Early Childhood Education Bachelor of Science degree is designed to lead to Florida Teacher Certification in Pre-K – Primary Education (PK-3) for public schools, preschools, Head Start programs, and private schools. In addition, graduates of this program will also be qualified for an ESOL endorsement. Our mission as Early Childhood Educators is to prepare reflective, competent, and caring Early Childhood Education Professionals to educate a diverse population of young children using research based, developmentally appropriate practices. We believe that ALL young children deserve a strong educational foundation in a safe and nurturing environment, utilizing a constructivist approach to learning through collaboration with family and community.

Admission Requirements:
- Complete the University General Education Requirements or its equivalent, i.e., an A.A. degree from an approved Florida community college or state university.
- Have a minimum 2.75 overall GPA, with provisional acceptance for one semester if GPA is 2.5 (GPA must be 2.75 by the second semester).
- Pass all four parts of the General Knowledge Test (GKT) and/or CLAST examination
- Meet the Gordon Rule Requirement
- Complete education common program prerequisite courses

- Complete Early Childhood Education program prerequisites
°MAC 1105 College Algebra or
°MAE 2801 Elementary School Mathematics

°EDF 2720 Children in Schools: Legal, Ethical, and Safety Concerns
°EEC 4731 Health, Safety, and Nutrition for Young Children (or similar course)
