Approved Educational Leadership Modified Core Program

This modified core is for students who hold master's degrees in another area, with a major other than educational administration, administration and supervision or educational leadership.

The Modified Core program has been designed for education professionals who have already completed a master's degree, are certified as teachers in the state of Florida and either have completed or intend to complete three years of teaching experience, (all requirements for Level 1 administrative certification).

Students who hold master's degrees may complete UCF's modified core program in two ways:

  1. as a stand-alone non-degree program. These students should finalize their admission as a UCF non degree student in an Educational Leadership Alternate Certification program.
  2. as part of an Education Specialist or Doctoral Degree program. Students seeking admission into these programs must apply and be admitted to the respective programs. Degree seeking students can be recommended for Level 1 administrative certification prior to degree completion. Students interested in pursuing either an Ed.S. or Ed.D. program, should review additional information on degree programs and admission requirements in the UCF graduate catalog and consult with an Educational Leadership faculty member for further information.

The following are the required classes in the Florida Educational Leadership Core Curriculum. We offer these all year round on the main campus and rotating on our Regional Campuses: UCF @ Brevard Community College-Cocoa and Daytona Beach Community College.
