Counselor Education Students Selected for NBCC Minority Fellowships


Graduate students Michelle Mitchell, Ashlei Rabess, and Jasmine Bensinger are 2017 National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Minority Fellowship Program recipients.

The Minority Fellowship Program’s $20,000 doctoral fellowship was awarded to Mitchell and Bensinger and Rabess each received an $8,000 master’s mental health fellowship.

This year’s NBCC recipients were selected on the basis of academic knowledge and experience with racially and ethnically diverse populations. The awards empower fellows to provide leadership to the counseling profession through education, research, and practice and services to underserved populations.
