Students Address Community Needs Academically During Showcase

Students created and presented service project posters featuring course objectives, the value of the community, and ways to foster civic responsibility during the 14th Annual Service-Learning Student Showcase.

Elementary Education student Mary-Margaret Shimada received the Non-Traditional Literacy Engagement Award for her United Cerebral Palsy Pine Hills Charter School service-learning project.

Instructional Design and Technology students Shane Roopnarine and Ashley Smith were recipients of the $500 Excellence in the College of Education and Human Performance Scholarship for applying an instructional systems approach to developing training resources for the National Park Service.
