FLorida Infant Toddler Specialist
Preparing Family-Infant-Toddler Specialists (FITS) is a personnel training project, funded by a five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The purpose of the project is to increase the knowledge and skills of individuals who provide services to infants and toddlers with special needs in the state of Florida. Participants in the program will complete six graduate level courses in the Department of Child, Family and Community Sciences. Most of the courses are available through distance education so that providers across the state can conveniently participate. Following program completion, students will be eligible for approval as Infant Toddler Developmental Specialists through the Florida Department of Health. Our goal is to provide funding for the training of 175 Infant Toddler Developmental Specialists.
