Meet the Holocaust Research Project Team

Dr. Sheryl Needle Cohn

Sheryl Needle Cohn, Ed.D is in the School of Teaching, Learning, & Leadership in the College of Education at the University of Central Florida. She is a University Coordinator of Student Teacher Internships for undergraduate and graduate students at both the elementary & secondary grade levels. Dr. Cohn is the author of the illustrated children's book series, The Salamander Stories. In July 2008, Dr. Cohn was accepted as a Holocaust Scholar into the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem, Jerusalem, Israel. She created the Holocaust Research Project as a teacher & public resource. Dr.Cohn's Holocaust book will be published in 2011.

Shainna Ali graduated with honors from UCF in May'10. Her research interests include cultural, family, religious and gender studies. Shainna is also a choreographer with the Orlando Belly Dance School. Ms.Ali is a graduate student and RAMP Fellow in the College of Education, Marriage & Family Research Institute. Shainna is the Holocaust Research Project senior research assistant. She is also assigned to the Germany & Holland survivor stories.

Mariela Perdomo Dillard is a UCF May'10 Elementary Education graduate. She is Spanish bilingual. Mariela is assigned to the Jewish-Dominican Republic Story in Sosua.

Marina Zorina is a Political Science major, studying International Law, with a minor in Spanish. Fluent in Russian. She has studied at Moscow State University. Marina is assigned to the Belarusian Shtetl story.

Jennifer Carbon is a an English Technical Communications major at UCF. Jennifer also holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Her speciality & career aspirations are in Media Marketing & Publication.
