Lockheed Martin/UCF Academy

The Lockheed Martin/UCF Academy supports two Master's degree programs that are dedicated to improving mathematics and science education in Central Florida.

The mission of Transition to Mathematics and Science Teaching is to increase the number of qualified middle school mathematics and science teachers by preparing professionals with a mathematics or science background to:

  • Enter the teaching profession through a mentoring relationship and completion of a master's degree.
  • Learn the art and science of teaching from academic and on-the-job perspectives.
  • Share professional/life experiences so that young adolescents can be prepared for advanced levels of mathematics and science.
K-8 T-MAST

This Master’s of Education degree program is designed for practicing teachers who wish to pursue a Master’s degree that concentrates on mathematics and science education, curriculum reform, and teacher leadership. Partial tuition support is available.

Participants in this program pursue initial certification in middle school Mathematics or in middle school Science education. This fast-track, 1-year program leads to a Master’s in Arts degree. Different fellowships are available for tuition support.
