Teaching Beyond the Core: Instructing Literacy Learners in Assembling Effective Process Systems, K-12 January 26, 2017

Instructing Literacy Learners in Assembling Effective Processing Systems focuses attendees on understanding literacy learning, defining and leading literacy learners across grade levels.  Offered as part of the annual series Teaching Beyond the Core,  this workshop is the first in a three-part series designed to bridge core standards into explicit teaching prompts to meet the needs of students, focused on literacy instruction and learning.  The Teaching Beyond the Core 2017 series concentrates on guiding learners in K-12 through responsive literacy instruction.

Constructing a Collaborative Learning Environment teaches attendees the skills necessary to establish a community of literacy learners, cultivate independence, promote writing, performance and presentation of literacy learners.  Attendees will also learn to utilize a framework for transdisciplinary literacy learning. The Literacy Symposium is a professional development day designed for all Florida preservice and in-service educators, teacher educators, district personnel, school administrators, and students interested in literacy. The purpose of this annual event is to present innovative information on literacy, equip attendees with proven and promising literacy practices and resources, and network with educators.

Atlantic Center/UCF Writing Institute for Teachers June 12 - 23, 2017

The Atlantic Center – University of Central Florida Writing Institute for Teachers is offered concurrently with the UCF Art Education Studio Experiences course. Classroom educators experience interactive teaching demonstrations and acquire new ideas and greater confidence in their lessons. This course can count toward initial certification, recertification, and as credit toward the M.Ed. program in Curriculum and Instruction. For students seeking initial teacher certification and not undergraduate and/or graduate English majors, the workshop can count as the English course prerequisite. The Atlantic Center/UCF Writing Institute for Teachers is a university accredited ten-day writing workshop for teachers.
