Curriculum & Instruction M.A.
Graduate Studies
Department of Educational Studies
NOTE: Effective Spring 2010, the M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction program will no longer accept applications from prospective students.
The M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction accepts applicants who are seeking teaching certification. Students may choose an existing area of concentration, take courses needed for teaching certification, or tailor the concentration courses to their professional needs (in consultation with their academic Advisor).
The M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction, which is for experienced educators who already have teaching certification and/or experience, has been changed to an M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership. Practicing educators who have or who do not need teaching certification and who are seeking curriculum + instruction and teacher leadership skills should apply to the M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership (because of this change the MEd in C&I is no longer accepting applications).
The Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction program is designed to prepare candidates for teaching certification in Florida and to give educators a broad, general background, allowing them to pursue their interests in a wide variety of topics. We offer concentrations in:
- Subject areas needed for teaching certification
- Curriculum Leadership
- Urban Education (Fully Online)
- Gifted Education (Fully Online)
- Foreign Language Education
- Global and Comparative Education
- Teaching Excellence
The program is designed for educators interested in becoming better classroom teachers, becoming curriculum and instruction leaders in their schools or school district, or performing instructional design tasks in other educational settings.
