In an era of increasing globalization, there is a growing need for professionals with a keen understanding of the political, social and economic phenomena that shape education within the global arena, and especially within developing nations. To meet these needs, the Department of Educational Studies offers a Graduate Certificate Program in Global & Comparative Education (GCE).
This program is designed for teachers and other professionals who wish to work in international and cross-cultural settings, bilateral and multilateral organizations, and/or state and federal government departments.
Through applied comparative research methdologies graduates of this program will better understand the dynamic characteristics and cultural backgrounds of students in educational settings worldwide, the policies and sociological phenomena that affect schooling, and how these factors connect to policy and practice. Graduates will also be able to foster meaningful connections between educational goals of schools and the personal and cultural experiences of students and their communities both at home and abroad.
The College of Graduate Studies provides leadership for and administers
policies on graduate education at the University of Central Florida.
Student Services in the College of Graduate Studies includes graduate admissions, student records, thesis and dissertation support, graduate fellowships, and other
activities, programs, and services to provide an excellent experience
for UCF graduate students from inquiry to graduation.
