The Ph.D. in Education-Exceptional Education is designed to prepare highly competent doctoral level professionals who will assume leadership positions in teaching, research and service in the area of Special Education. A challenging program of study focuses on developing the qualifications to conduct research, implement best practices based on research, and evaluate new programs and projects that serve students with disabilities. Project LEAD Project LEAD is a highly specialized project leading to a Ph.D. in Education-Exceptional Education. It is a federal project funded by the U.S. Office of Special Education Programs through UCF's Department of Child, Family and Community Sciences. The project is committed to the recruitment, retention and preparation of special education teacher educator/scholars who are members of traditionally underrepresented groups, including minorities and persons with disabilities.
