UCF's English Language Arts Education program is designed to enable teacher candidates to take a variety of classes related to the development of secondary aged students as well as a set of English classes. The required curriculum meets or exceeds all recommended standards as stipulated by our accrediting agencies and the National Council of Teachers of English. Candidates participate in a series of field experiences and internships where they gain practical experience integrating theory and practice while working with secondary students. Upon completion of the program, candidates are well prepared to succeed in the secondary English/Language Arts classroom.

This program prepares highly qualified teachers in the area of secondary English Language Arts Education (grades 6-12). Graduates from this program meet all requirements for Florida teacher certification in this field as well as for the Florida ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Endorsement.
