Department of Teaching and Learning Principles

The primary mission of the Department of Teaching and Learning Principles (TLP) is to provide quality professional education for those entering careers as educators and trainers and to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of practicing teachers and educators through advanced studies. This department has 59 full-time faculty members and offers courses, graduate certificates, as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees in three major program areas: Elementary Education;  Middle, Secondary and Post-secondary Education and Training ( English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies);  and K-12 Education (Art, ESOL, Foreign Language, and Reading). The undergraduate program in Elementary Education is offered on the UCF main campus and the following UCF regional campuses: Daytona, Lake Mary/Heathrow, South Lake, Leesburg, Ocala, Osceola, and Cocoa. TLP also supports tracks in the Education Ph.D. and specializations in the Education Doctorate (Elementary, Mathematics, Reading, Science and Social Studies).
